Oesterreichische Post AG has numerous established and technologically different systems and databases in which data is stored and processed. Growing data sets and new regulatory requirements place ever higher demands on the data management systemagement.
The first step was therefore to introduce an IT-supported solution to increase transparency in data storage and data flows (data catalog) as well as to centrally measure data quality. The Swiss Post's most important data management systems were examined with a focus on En"Private customer", "Address" and "Product" are prioritized. Subsequently, central transparency will be further expanded and the handling of tools will be transferred to the line.
The next step will be the introduction of central master data management in several development stages. Here iThe goal, starting with the core entities "private customer", "address" and "product", is to store master data centrally and with quality assurance in a Master Data Management (MDM) system and make it available to other systems. Where "Product" is not an MDM entity but rather as a reference datan is to be understood (no match and merge is necessary for products).
Currently, different reference data is also stored decentrally in various systems. The aim here is also to enable central storage of reference data and to make it available to decentralized systems...
